Joseph Rinaggio, DDS, MS
Dr. Rinaggio joined the APEX team in the winter of 2018. He is based out of our Livingston, NJ office. Dr. Rinaggio received his D.D.S. degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1995, having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1991. Upon completion of dental school, he entered a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at SUNY at Buffalo, earning a Certificate of Proficiency in 1998. He completed a Fellowship in Head and Neck Pathology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1999. Dr. Rinaggio joined the Department of Pathology at UTHSCSA as a Clinical Instructor, and was a member of the Surgical Pathology staff at the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Administration Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. He earned a Master of Science degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2000. Dr. Rinaggio is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
In 2013, he completed a residency in Endodontics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and joined the faculty at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine as an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences, and as an Associate Professor of Endodontics in the Department of Endodontics. He also had a faculty appointment in the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He has given many lectures and presentations on oral mucosal pathology and jaw lesions both nationally and internationally. He is the author of over 30 articles that have been published in both prestigious medical and dental journals. Dr. Rinaggio also practices pathology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey.
